Welcome to this week’s installment of The Friday Five, featuring five of my favorite travel blog posts for you to check out! Think of it as a great way to introduce you to some awesome new bloggers who are having some truly incredible adventures! Here are my picks for this week:

A Wider World Means a Smaller Me

In this truly touching post, Caz of yTravel Blog writes about how travel puts the world in perspective. You see that you may not live in the greatest country in the world and that your life really isn’t that difficult compared to our compatriots in other countries. This is a truly fantastic post!

Hostel Jerks: Reasonable or Reason For Revenge?

Staying in hostels can be a real mixed bag of experiences, as Andea of Inspiring Travellers reminds us in this humorous post. If you’ve ever stayed in a hostel, you can probably relate to one of the jerk-like scenarios featured here! Brings me back to my hostel days…

7 Waterfalls Tour, El Salvador – Episode 11

Jason and Aracely of Two Backpackers have put together quite an impressive collection of travel videos of their travels throughout Central and South America. In this wonderful latest installment, they show off the striking 7 Waterfalls of El Salvador!

A Cremation in Bali

Theodora from Travels With a Nine Year Old writes about experiencing an exciting cremation for 3 members of the Balinese royal family. Considering their status, this is no ordinary cremation and she’s got the incredible photos to prove it! All I can say is, what an experience!

Travel With a Conscience and “Experience”

Jamie and Jess from Adventures With Cloud People write an important message here about responsible travel that we should all bear in mind…supporting local businesses is one of the most important things you can do. That chain hotel or restaurant doesn’t need your business nearly as much as the local place next door does and the food and service is bound to be better anyways!

When I'm not blissfully on the road, I reside in New York City, where I become the ultimate travel junkie and spend my days dreaming up my next great adventure! Read More...

Thanks so much for featuring our post, which we endured some excruciating “research” to produce, haha =)

Hahaha I’m sure you did! (Trust me, I’ve been there…). And congrats on your blog turning 1! Mine just did this past Tuesday!

My pleasure Caz! I found your post to be really touching and a great reminder as to why I travel!

Hehehe. Hostels DO have many redeeming qualities, though I personally prefer CouchSurfing to any other foprm of accommodation!
