I don’t know what it is with menus. I mean, with foreigners around, it’s good to provide translations so people know what they’re ordering, right? But see, those translations are where the fun comes in!
You might remember that last week, this series featured a menu asking about pizza toppings. Well that very same menu contained another gem…braised rice! Now, that’s not something you’d expect to see in China, right? Well…think again!
Now, I have to give the writer of this menu a little credit, as this actually isn’t terribly far off. After all,”braises” sort of falls under present tense…right? Like “he braises the rice.” Anyone?
