2013 was a big year for me. 9 countries. 10 U.S. States plus Washington, D.C.28 flights. 9 train rides. 3 bus rides. And 1 truly miserable ferry ride. I traversed over 83,000 miles in 2013 (over 133,500 km), more than doubling the record that I set last year! I spent so much time on the road this year that I only spent 112 days at home in New York City. I’ve spent the past few days looking back through the photos from the past year and I’ve put together some of my favorites to share with you!

Here’s to 2014!
2013 has been quite a year but I’m excited to find out what 2014 will bring! I’m not sure it will be quite as exciting as this year (what with my spontaneous tripand all), but it will definitely be a year of changes in my life. And I can’t wait to see where things end up a year from now! Happy New Year, and thanks for reading!
Hey there! I'm Aaron and this is my travel site, where I document my adventures to all corners of the world. My love for travel started at the ripe old age of four, when a midlife crisis uprooted my family to Ecuador for five years. Since then, I've been to countries on 4 different continents. When I'm not blissfully on the road, I reside in New York City, where I become the ultimate travel junkie and spend my days dreaming up my next great adventure! Read More...
Me too! It’s one of my favorites of something so seemingly simple.

I really like the Notre Dame basilica and the reflection of the sky in the Indonesia photo. Happy New Year to you!

The dramatic sky with the rice paddy from Tana Toraja? Thanks! I love that one! And I went to a light and sound show at the Notre Dame Basilica (which was a bit of a tourist trap) that came with a big reveal of the church…made it all the more jaw dropping! Happy New Year to you too!

I love that last photo!

I know! My flight had been delayed about 2 hours so I was very lucky to catch the sunset like that! Had my flight been on time, I never would have gotten this photo!

Notre Dame basilica is my favorite. Wishing you a Happy 2014

Yeah, it was really stunning, especially since I went to the cheesy “sound and light show,” which was rather blah as the church was covered in fabric for the projections. But it did come with a spectacular reveal of the church itself that literally took my breath away!

Great photos, Aaron, you’ve had quite a year! 🙂 Love the sunset photo at the airport! Any travel plans for 2014 yet?

Thanks Dani! Alas, my only travel plans in 2014 so far are trips out to San Francisco to see my 6-month-old nephew (and the rest of my family!) We’ll see what else comes up…
