NYC Holiday Magic: Macy’s

Macy’s is a big name here in New York, especially with their absolutely enormous block long (and wide) flagship store on 34th Street. They put on the annual 4th of July fireworks show and the Thanksgiving Day Parade, which, of course, ends with Santa Claus’ arrival into Herald Square. So it is no wonder that Macy’s goes all out for the holiday season.

Though their claim to fame may be their holiday window displays (which are the epitome of high tech, displaying a series of live, animated scenes of a story about Santa Claus, which, unfortunately, don’t provide for some terribly interesting photos), I was much more impressed with their exterior decor. See the Empire State Building illuminated for Hanukkah in the picture below?
