Travel Planning

I am really happy to announce that in a little over 5 months, I will be a world traveler again! My whole family will be going to Bhutan in late March, but I am planning to head to Bangkok about 6 weeks before them to get a good month and a half of backpacking in! My plans are still in flux, but I am considering starting in Bangkok, heading to Eastern Thailand and into Southern Laos. From there, I would make my way up through Laos and up to the Chinese border (which I came so close to before). From there, I’d like to head into Southwest China’s Yunnan province for a couple of weeks.

I am in the early planning stages of this, and while I don’t necessarily want to make a set itinerary (it’s nearly impossible to follow one in that part of the world), I do like to have a basic outline. For starters, I picked up a copy of Lonely Planet’s Southwest China guide (to complement my existing Thailand and Laos guides).
I’m already really thrilled about the prospect of this trip and hopefully all that time will fly by, as I’ve been itching for another adventure!

Hey there! I'm Aaron and this is my travel site, where I document my adventures to all corners of the world. My love for travel started at the ripe old age of four, when a midlife crisis uprooted my family to Ecuador for five years. Since then, I've been to countries on 4 different continents. When I'm not blissfully on the road, I reside in New York City, where I become the ultimate travel junkie and spend my days dreaming up my next great adventure! Read More...
